I love fashion, I must admit. Most people, even my closest friends, would be surprised to learn this about me. I hardly shop and my outfits are pretty average on most days. But I love it, I really do, and the yearly Met Gala is always worth paying attention to. This year, despite the Trump administration’s efforts to block every and all DEI iniciatives all over the place, the Met decided to celebrate Black fashion with this year’s theme being “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” People did not disappoint! Some paid very serious homage to the theme, while others stayed in their comfort zone. Let’s break down the looks, learn about Black fashion history, and choose our best and worst dressed candidates.
